In 2020, Spar began piloting the new checkout solution “eStore” in Austria. This year, the conversion of the cash register software will begin in all five countries of the Spar Austria group of companies. The challenge: 11,500 cash register systems - two to 30 per location - have to be converted.
The time had come in November 2020: After intensive preparation, Spar was able to use the new “eStore” cash register solution developed in cooperation with Gebit Solutions. The first pilot was installed shortly after the store closed at Interspar Eisenstadt by the team from the Spar branch service department under the coordination of Spar ICS, the group's internal IT unit.
